Investors in the Environment

At the Junction, we are committed to empowering our workers to champion sustainability and have a real say in reducing our impact on the environment. Over the last few months, we have been working towards the Investors in The Environment Bronze Award; an accreditation which helps organisations to understand and reduce their environmental impact.

This has meant some changes to how we do things, including:

• Establishing an Environment and Sustainability Committee,

• Appointing Green Champions from the staff and young people working with the Junction.

• Calculating our base year carbon usage, and monitoring and recording our carbon usage in a carbon calculator.

• Implementing environmental action plans, covering: energy saving technologies, business travel, waste, purchasing goods and services, maintenance of equipment and buildings, water and energy usage.

We are very proud to announce that, in October 2024, we achieved the Bronze Award! But the work doesn’t stop here. We are currently working hard to achieve the Silver Investors in The Environment Award, so watch this space for further updates.
